All my Cinefield® work is done utilizing traditional collage
technique of cutting out images with scissors and fixing them with adhesive to
paper. I never use any digital magic. Importantly, all the images that I use
are from photos which I personally took.
The goal for me with this medium is creating a sort of
open-ended narrative, the viewer creating the story in their own mind’s eye,
different for each person. This allows for repeated viewings without loss of
tension. I prefer density in all my work regardless of medium. Cinefield®
greatly facilitates that bent so that if you look at a piece several times
without distraction, each time will be noticed new little surprises akin to the
effect of when looking at Hieronymus Bosch or Pieter Bruegel.
